Delta Governor Sheriff Oborevwori congratulated Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji on his re‑election victory.
Speaking through his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Festus Ahon, in Asaba on Sunday, Oborevwori described the win as a reward for purposeful leadership and people‑oriented governance in Ekiti State.
The governor said Oyebanji’s landslide victory reflected the people’s confidence and trust in his administration. Oyebanji, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, secured 319,224 votes and was declared the winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Oborevwori noted that the victory was historic, marking the first consecutive second‑term win by a sitting governor in Ekiti State since the return to democracy in 1999.
He praised Oyebanji’s leadership style, citing inclusiveness, development and political stability, and commended APC leaders, stakeholders and grassroots supporters for their role in the triumph. According to the Delta governor, their unity helped secure overwhelming support across Ekiti’s 16 local government areas.
“Your re‑election is a clear endorsement of your administration’s achievements and commitment to Ekiti State’s development,” Oborevwori said. He expressed confidence that Oyebanji’s second term would strengthen ongoing programmes and economic growth.
The governor wished the Ekiti State governor continued success, wisdom and good health in office.
