Recognition for the Zamfara Rescue Mission extended beyond prominent individuals, with corporate entities also commending Governor Lawal’s commitment to revitalising Zamfara.

On 19 April 2026, the Broadcasting Organisations of Nigeria (BON) presented Governor Lawal with the Infrastructure Governor of the Year award, acknowledging his administration’s significant progress in the Urban Renewal project throughout Zamfara.

The BON Awards Selection Committee was chaired by former Director‑General of the National Broadcasting Commission, Dr Danladi Bako.

Panel members included seasoned professionals and representatives from the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON) and the NBC.

Dr Bako explained that the committee highlighted several factors for honoring Governor Dauda Lawal, particularly his substantial advancements across multiple sectors and the transformation of Gusau into a modern state capital.

He added, “Zamfara has achieved unprecedented milestones under Governor Dauda Lawal, including the historic construction of a modern international airport in the state.”

“Beyond urban renewal, the construction and outfitting of general hospitals, Governor Dauda Lawal’s administration has built, refurbished, and equipped more than 800 schools across the 14 local government areas of the state,” he continued.
