The Kano State chapter of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) received a notable addition on Thursday when the lawmaker representing Gwale Constituency in the Kano State House of Assembly, Hon. Abdulmajid Isa Umar Mai Rigar Fata, switched parties.

Sources indicate that Mai Rigar Fata joined the NDC after failing to obtain the All Progressives Congress (APC) nomination for a return to the Assembly.

The lawmaker currently serves Gwale Local Government Area, the same region from which Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf originates.

Mai Rigar Fata was formally welcomed into the NDC on Thursday by party leader Rabiu Kwankwaso at his residence in Abuja.

In addition, former Gwale Local Government Vice Chairman Hon. Kabiru Sani Auwal Obi also joined the NDC.
