Gov Fintiri emerges winner of Adamawa North APC senatorial ticket

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has been officially declared the winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primary for Adamawa North.

Mr. Wilfred William, the returning officer for the APC primary in Adamawa North, announced the results after the collation concluded in Mubi‑North Local Government Area on Tuesday. The primary was held across the district’s five local government areas: Madagali, Maiha, Michika, Mubi North and Mubi South.

The officer reported that the total number of votes cast in the five LGAs was 292,070, with 174,514 accredited votes. The vote counts for the candidates were as follows: Abdulrahaman Kwacham – 6,958 votes; Ahmadu Fintiri – 160,579 votes; and Hamisu Medugu – 6,977 votes.

With the highest tally, Fintiri was declared the winner and the APC’s candidate for the Adamawa Northern Senatorial District.

Earlier that day, Dr. Felix Tangwami, former Commissioner of Health, was announced as the winner of the APC primary for Adamawa South.

The APC did not hold a primary in Adamawa Central on Monday, as the election was postponed before the scheduled date.
