Gov. Buni Named APC Consensus Candidate for Yobe East Senate Seat

Governor Mai Mala Buni has been selected as the sole candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Yobe East Senatorial District by consensus.

The primary took place on Monday at the Yobe State Arts and Cultural Centre in Damaturu, where hundreds of APC members gathered, including Minister of Police Affairs Ibrahim Geidam, Senator Musa Mustapha, and APC State Chairman Mohammadu Gadaka, among others.

Senator Musa Mustapha of the Yobe East Senatorial District moved the motion to adopt Governor Mai Mala Buni as the consensus candidate, and the motion was seconded by Representative Hon. Lawan Shettima Ali.

Ambassador Babagana Ajimi, chairman of the APC Primary Election Committee for Yobe East, presented the certificate of return to the party’s senatorial candidate.

In his acceptance speech, Governor Buni thanked APC stakeholders in Yobe East, saying that his endorsement as the sole senatorial candidate is another chance to serve the people with dedication.

The primary was overseen by the Independent National Electoral Commission, headed by its Resident Electoral Commissioner, Abubakar Maaji.
