Gombe APC primaries were peaceful and orderly, Governor Inuwa Yahaya says.

Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State described the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives primaries held across the state on Saturday as peaceful and orderly.

After voting in Jekadafari Ward, the governor praised the high turnout of party members and the smooth conduct of the exercise throughout the state.

Yahaya commended the election committee and other stakeholders for ensuring a transparent and credible process for all aspirants.

“We are one big family, and there is no victor, no vanquished. As far as I am concerned, they are all APC members and I urge everyone to cooperate and unite for the success of our great party in the forthcoming general elections,” he said.

The governor also stressed the importance of unity among party members to sustain the developmental projects of the APC administration in Gombe State.

He added that the calm conduct of participants during the primaries reflected growing democratic maturity within the party and the state.

Alhaji Labiru Musa Kafur, chairman of the Primary Election Committee, also praised the Gombe APC chapter for its adherence to democratic principles.

“We are highly satisfied with the peaceful conduct and transparent process of the election,” Kafur said.

The direct primary for the Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency was contested between Hon. Sadam Bello Saleh and Alhaji Zakariyya Jidda.

Another contest took place in the Balanga/Billiri Federal Constituency between serving lawmaker Ali Isa JC and Alfred John Attajiri.
