Fury Sets Dublin Fight Before ‘Battle Of Britain’ Against Joshua

Two‑time heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury has announced that his next fight will take place in Dublin on August 1, a week before a heavyweight showdown with fellow‑Briton Anthony Joshua.

Fury hinted heavily on social media that he will return to the ring on August 1 in Dublin, just one week after Joshua’s own comeback bout in Saudi Arabia.

Both fighters are expected to finally face each other later this year after years of failed negotiations and collapsed talks surrounding a blockbuster “Battle of Britain” clash.

Joshua, 36, will first return on July 25 in Saudi Arabia against little‑known 20‑to‑1 Albanian Kristian Prenga, 35.

Meanwhile Fury, 37, is looking for a warm‑up bout of his own just seven days later at the 3Arena in Dublin.

He posted a video on his Instagram with Thailand‑based boxing coach Robert “Sifu” McInnes – who spilled the beans.

McInnes said: “First time back in camp ready for the fight on August 1st. Tyson’s home.”

Fury captioned the video: “Let’s go August 1, Dublin, Ireland.”

Recall that Fury ended 16 months of retirement in April by beating Arslanbek Makhmudov, 36, on points. Makhmudov went the full distance, but Fury was in control throughout, with two judges scoring the bout 120‑108 and the third 119‑109.

Speaking from Thailand, Fury appeared energized about beginning another training camp.

“He’s back in Thailand, baby,” Fury said.

“Camp two, second camp.”

The proposed Dublin event is expected to take place at the 3Arena and will reportedly also feature the rescheduled lightweight contest between Pierce O’Leary and Mark Chamberlain.

Meanwhile, Joshua is preparing for his own emotional comeback after surviving the devastating car accident in December that tragically claimed the lives of two of his close friends.

Only days before the crash, the former two‑time world heavyweight champion stopped YouTuber‑turned‑boxer Jake Paul in six rounds during their hugely publicised clash in Miami.
