Former Nigerian international Alloy Agu has said that the Super Eagles will give Portugal a stern test in their upcoming friendly.

The match on June 10 will be Portugal’s last warm‑up before heading to North America for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

For Nigeria, the friendly is another chance to gauge the squad against top‑class opposition ahead of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers that start in September.

In a conversation with Completesports.com, Agu noted that the Super Eagles are ready to face Portugal.

He also praised the team’s 2‑2 draw with Poland in Warsaw on Wednesday.

“I expect an entertaining and tough game against Portugal because of the way the team played against Poland on Wednesday,” he said.

“Portugal, no doubt, are a very good team, but I believe they won’t find it easy against a Nigerian side that will be eager to maintain their impressive form.”

“We have the quality to also match the Portuguese team and wish the players the best.”
