Friendly: Portugal Will Be Difficult Test For Eagles –Moffi

Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi has said he expects a tough match against Portugal in next week’s international friendly.

Moffi, who scored in Nigeria’s 3‑0 victory over Jamaica in the Unity Cup final, also found the net as the Super Eagles drew 2‑2 with Poland in Wednesday’s friendly.

In the 23rd minute, FC Porto striker Terem Moffi opened the scoring for Nigeria, finishing a brilliant pass from Moses Simon.

Nigeria dominated the game but failed to defend a corner, allowing Nicola Zalewski’s strike past goalkeeper Maduka Okoye to level the score just before halftime.

Paul Onauchu converted a penalty after a Polish player handled the ball in the box, making it 2‑1.

The Eagles thought they had secured the win, but Przemyslaw Wisniewski scored the equaliser for the hosts with a 25‑yard strike deep into stoppage time.

In a conversation with Brila FM, the Nigerian international said he was impressed with the team’s display against Poland but warned that Portugal will be very difficult.

“We had a good game against Poland and I am happy I scored,” Moffi said.

After Wednesday’s clash, Nigeria will turn its attention to another friendly against World Cup‑bound Portugal on June 10.

Although the Super Eagles will not be at the 2026 World Cup, they are using the friendlies to test tactics and new players ahead of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
