Former Nigerian international Friday Ekpo praised the Super Eagles’ 2‑2 draw with Poland in Wednesday’s international friendly.
Moffi opened the scoring for Nigeria in the 23rd minute, before Poland equalised with a 45th‑minute strike from Kacper Potulski.
Paul Onuachu restored Nigeria’s lead by converting a penalty in the 77th minute.
After the match, Ekpo spoke to Completesports.com, commending the Eagles’ quick play and possession control against a home‑side Polish side.
He said he was impressed with the players’ performance, even though the game ended in a draw.
“It was a good game to watch, and I am impressed with the outcome against Poland. The Super Eagles’ quick play and control of possession show how well the players are adapting to Eric Chelle’s tactical setup,” Ekpo said.
“From the defence to the attack, the players gave their best and could have won the game had they closed down the space that gave the Polish player the vision to hit a shot from that distance.”
Portugal Come Next
Following today’s clash, Nigeria will turn its focus to a friendly against World Cup‑bound Portugal on June 10.
Although the Super Eagles will not feature at the 2026 World Cup, the friendly matches are being used to test tactics and new players ahead of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
