President Emmanuel Macron of France praised the United States‑Iran agreement, urging that all parties act swiftly and fully to implement it.

Macron said the deal should allow the Hormuz Strait to reopen quickly, stressing that unrestricted maritime traffic is essential for regional stability and the global economy.

He added that the agreement opens the door to broader talks aimed at ensuring peace and security throughout the Middle East.

Macron emphasized that negotiations must address Iran’s nuclear and ballistic programs and its “policy of regional destabilization.”

“This is how we will be able to build a solid and lasting peace,” the President said. “France is prepared to play its full part, alongside its partners.”

Macron also pledged France’s unwavering support for Lebanon’s efforts to restore sovereignty, safeguard stability, protect territorial integrity, and meet the needs of its population.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer called the U.S.–Iran agreement “a hugely important step forward” in ending the conflict, ensuring regional stability, and reopening the Hormuz Strait.

Starmer urged complete implementation of the memorandum of understanding to keep the Strait permanently open and to finalize all elements of the nuclear agreement.

He expressed readiness to back technical talks, demanding “toll‑free freedom of navigation” to alleviate the severe economic impacts on families worldwide.

The Prime Minister pledged continued participation in defensive and independent multilateral missions, noting the UK and France’s roles in operations such as mine‑clearing.

Starmer reiterated the UK’s stance that Iran must never possess a nuclear weapon, insisting that Tehran’s nuclear commitments be robust, verifiable, and fully implemented.
