On Friday, former Senegal international Demba Ba was appointed sporting director of Ligue 1 side Le Havre.
The 41‑year‑old, who played in the Premier League for West Ham, Newcastle and Chelsea, comes from Dunkerque, a Ligue 2 club where he has held the position of deputy president for three years.
During his tenure, Dunkerque finished fourth in 2025, qualified for the Ligue 2 playoffs, and reached the French Cup semi‑finals, where they were defeated by Paris Saint‑Germain.
Ba replaces Mathieu Bodmer, who departed the club after the final matchday of the season, when Le Havre finished 14th.
Bodmer has joined Caen, a third‑division club owned by France captain Kylian Mbappé.
