Former Oyo Deputy Governor Gbolarumi Secures PDP Gubernatorial Ticket in 2027.

A former Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Barrister Hazeem Gbolarumi, has been selected as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate for the 2027 general elections.

Gbolarumi secured the nomination in a primary that took place across all 33 local government areas of the state.

The primary election was held on Sunday.

Mr. Tolulope Awoniyi, the Chairman of the PDP gubernatorial primary in Oyo, announced the result after the collation of the votes.

The collation was conducted at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Secretariat in Ibadan on Sunday.

Officials from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), led by Engineer Olugbenga Keshinro, Head of Department of Election and Party Monitoring for INEC Oyo State, attended the collation along with party members and security personnel.

Awoniyi stated that Gbolarumi received 3,615 votes, making him the winner.

He added that Barrister Beulah Adeoye received 22 votes.

Only two candidates contested the primary.

Awoniyi said, “The total number of registered members is 3,694. The total number of accredited voters is 3,640.”

“Total number of scores by candidates: Barrister Hazeem Gbolarumi scored a total of 3,615 votes. Amofin Beulah Adeoye scored 22 votes.”

“Going by the results, by the power conferred on me as the Chairman of the PDP gubernatorial election in Oyo State, I hereby declare Barrister Hazeem Gbolarumi as the winner of the election, having scored the highest number of votes.”
