Former Niger Delta agitators back Tinubu for 2027, citing Seyi’s humanitarian intervention.

ABUJA — The Niger Delta Ex‑Agitators Leadership Forum has announced its support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 re‑election bid, highlighting the administration’s policies and the humanitarian work of his son, Seyi Tinubu, notably a life‑saving medical intervention for a forum member.

The endorsement was declared on Saturday through a statement from the forum’s National Coordinator, General Benson, who confirmed that the group had reached a unanimous decision to back the President’s second‑term campaign.

The forum, made up of stakeholders focused on peace, stability, and development in the Niger Delta, said it has closely monitored the Tinubu administration and determined that the President merits the continuation of his reforms and programmes.

The group singled out Seyi Tinubu for his humanitarian work, recalling his intervention in the case of a critically ill ex‑agitator with valvular heart disease.

The intervention enabled a successful heart surgery for the beneficiary, who is now recuperating.

The statement noted, “This noble gesture reflects compassion, patriotism, and genuine concern for the wellbeing of ordinary Nigerians.”

The forum added that, beyond this incident, Seyi Tinubu has continued to support youth empowerment and humanitarian initiatives nationwide, describing his efforts as commendable.

Consequently, it declared its support for President Tinubu’s re‑election campaign, urging Niger Delta youths, traditional rulers, community leaders, and stakeholders to rally behind the administration.

The group also urged Nigerians to disregard what it called “unfounded criticisms and negative narratives,” and to focus on ongoing national development efforts.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains our preferred candidate for 2027, and we pledge our total support toward his re‑election,” the forum stated.
