Former Imo First Lady Nkechi Okorocha to Launch Women‑Empowerment App

—  Says NGO has impacted over 3,000 lives

Former First Lady of Imo State and founder of the Women of Divine Destiny Initiative (WODDI), Mrs. Zinariya Nneoma Rochas Okorocba, announced that the organization will launch a digital app on Saturday. The app aims to educate and empower Nigerian women and their counterparts across Africa.

During a briefing with journalists, Mrs. Okorocba explained that WODDI has already empowered more than 3,000 women in Nigeria and operates in several other African countries.

She described the upcoming WODDI Institute App as an online university accessible to every woman, regardless of formal education experience.

According to her, the app will provide knowledge and skills that enable women to become breadwinners and economic powerhouses.

The app is designed to allow users to study at their own pace and to choose the language that best suits them.

“This is an app that we believe will empower women, not only in Nigeria but across Africa. It functions like an online university for every woman,” she said.

“One of our goals is to ensure that every woman is included. Our slogan is ‘no woman should be left out.’ Whether you are educated or not, you can study at your own pace and select the language that works for you,” she added.

“If you prefer not to use English, you can choose Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo, or any other language,” she continued.

Nkechi Okorocba highlighted that WODDI has organized numerous workshops and hosted several editions of its empowerment summit over its 17-year history. The organization also runs a program focused on skill acquisition for women.

She recalled her time as First Lady of Imo State, when she established three skill acquisition centres across the state’s senatorial districts, training nearly 100,000 students in various trades.

“Skill is essential these days. Even if you hold a white‑collar job, having additional skills ensures your family’s wellbeing,” she said.

“At WODDI, we dedicate time to teach skills such as tailoring, catering, and cosmetology,” she added.

Addressing the need to properly prepare youth for future challenges, Mrs. Okorocba emphasized that the modern world demands skilled individuals and innovative ideas.

“We criticize people, but we also provide the foundation they need at a young age. With that foundation, they will succeed,” she concluded.
