Former Secretary to the Bauchi State Government Ibrahim Kashim has submitted an expression of interest to run for governor under the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2027 general elections.
Kashim announced the development in a statement released on Saturday, calling it the beginning of his gubernatorial campaign.
He said the decision came after consultations with supporters throughout the state and a pledge to deliver better governance and development.
The former SSG said his ambition is motivated by a desire to enhance service delivery in key sectors, including education, healthcare, agriculture, and economic development.
He added that his campaign aims to broaden opportunities for young people and improve living conditions throughout Bauchi State.
The politician, who recently switched from the Social Democratic Party (SDP) to the Nigeria Democratic Congress, said the move was intended to strengthen his political platform before the election.
He reiterated that his focus remains on promoting unity, development, and better governance in the state.
