Hammed Shittu in Ilorin
A former Chief Press Secretary to Kwara State Governor Dr. Rafiu Ajakaye has secured the All Progressives Congress (APC) nomination for the Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun federal constituency in the 2027 general election.
In the APC primary held at the constituency on Saturday, Ajakaye received 707 votes, surpassing nine other aspirants, including the incumbent federal lawmaker Hon. Ismail Kayode, who failed to obtain any votes.
Mr. Olagunju Afeez, the presiding officer of the primary, reported that Ajakaye’s 707 votes came from 2,195 accredited voters.
Mr. Tajudeen Abioye finished second with 493 votes, followed by Mr. Kayode Adebiyi Abdulhakeem who earned 370 votes and Mr. Akintunde Shittu who garnered 216 votes.
Other candidates’ results were as follows: Mr. Oyekunle Gbenga – 191 votes; Mr. Ademola Bello – 104 votes; Mr. Abiodun Azeez – 50 votes; Owoniyi Abiodun Azeez – 40 votes; and Mr. Ayoola Fakunle – 25 votes.
