Super Eagles defender Bright Osayi-Samuel could be on his way back to Fenerbahce, as the club is plotting a move this summer, Afrik-Foot reports.

Osayi-Samuel only left the Turkish giants last year after four years at the club. He had a successful spell there, featuring in 178 games, with seven goals and 15 assists to his name.

However, even though he only recently joined Birmingham City, the 28-year-old has often expressed his love for the Yellow Canaries.

In his first year at Birmingham City, Osayi-Samuel contributed one assist in 29 appearances. He was brought in with high expectations due to his experience playing top-flight football, but he could not help their cause as they finished 10th in the Championship last season.

Now, fresh reports from Turkish journalist Erkan Yurusan suggest that Osayi-Samuel may well be on his way out of Birmingham to rejoin Fenerbahce. However, that depends on one key factor.

How a World Cup Star Could Make Fenerbahçe Sign Osayi-Samuel

According to Turkish football expert Erkan Yurusan, Fenerbahce signing Osayi-Samuel would depend on Nélson Semedo.

The right-back, who is currently with Portugal at the 2026 World Cup, has been linked with a departure from the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium in recent weeks.

So, in the event of Semedo’s exit, they would try to sign Osayi-Samuel as a replacement.

What makes the transfer even more attractive is the fact that İsmail Kartal, who was Osayi-Samuel’s former boss at Fenerbahce, has recently been appointed. The two share a very good relationship, so he would be happy to play under his former manager again.

The Super Eagles star is currently valued at €4 million on Transfermarkt, with two years left on his contract.

Given the fact that he was not a regular starter at Birmingham City last season, the club should be willing to sanction a deal.
