Federal Government clarifies reports about a 40% special allowance for civil servants

The Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HCSF) has responded to reports about a 40 per cent peculiar allowance for federal civil servants.

Mrs Eno Olotu, the HCSF’s Director of Press and Public Relations, stated that the office neither approved the allowance nor communicated its approval to the Joint National Public Service Negotiating Council (JNPSNC) or any labour union.

She added that the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission (NSIWC) holds the statutory duty to issue and disseminate such circulars.
