Afrobeats artist Mr Eazi has drawn attention online after announcing that he placed a bet on the gender of his unborn child with his wife, Temi Otedola.
In a post on his X account on Wednesday, the singer and entrepreneur wrote: “I just bet on if Temi Ajibade & Mr Eazi are having a boy or girl.”
The comment quickly went viral, with many fans interpreting it as a playful way to join the excitement surrounding the couple’s first child. Others joked that the singer might already know the baby’s gender, while some teased him for turning the pregnancy into a betting conversation.
One user wrote, “Pikin wey you don do scan see?” while another, @RitaObido, quipped: “Na rich man get belle na poor man dey bet.”
Additional comments included @leeqman93’s remark, “Really? Unborn child? Really? Rich people mehnnnn,” and @DJ_MayWeather’s: “You wan collect this 2k wey I dey use guide Mr Eazi take it easy.”
In a supportive tone, @FredricksonWhy1 added: “Na my money you wan add join baby shower. No problem, I will be happy to sow a seed.”
Mr Eazi, whose real name is Oluwatosin Ajibade, did not disclose whether he backed a boy or a girl. The light‑hearted post has nevertheless fueled speculation among followers eager to learn the baby’s gender.
The development comes weeks after Temi Otedola announced that she and her husband were expecting their first child together. She shared photos of her baby bump and accompanied the announcement with the biblical message: “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, Before you were born I set you apart.”
The pregnancy announcement received widespread congratulations from fans, celebrities and public figures, marking another milestone for one of Nigeria’s most celebrated celebrity couples.
Mr Eazi and Temi, the daughter of billionaire businessman Femi Otedola, have been together for several years. The couple became engaged in 2022 and celebrated their marriage in a series of ceremonies in 2025.
