Medical experts have warned that Nigeria’s increasing trend of self‑medication is contributing to liver diseases and exposing millions to the risk of irreversible organ damage.

They noted that the indiscriminate use of painkillers, antibiotics, and herbal mixtures—often without a proper diagnosis
