Ex-Power Minister Adelabu’s sister and two children rescued.

The Nigeria Police rescued the younger sister of former Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John‑Paul, along with her 12‑year‑old twin sons, Peter and Paul.

The three were rescued alive during a police operation that took place on Saturday.

Channels Television reported that two suspected kidnappers were neutralised in a gunfight with police, and that two firearms were seized from the gang.

The family had been abducted at about 7:30 a.m. on 3 June 2026 while they were on their way to drop the children at school.

Police sources told Channels Television that sustained intelligence gathering and tactical pressure forced the kidnappers into a confrontation with the operatives, resulting in the successful rescue of the victims.

The source also said that security forces are still combing nearby areas for fleeing members of the kidnapping syndicate, some of whom are believed to have escaped with gunshot wounds.
