Oyo South senator Sarafadeen Alli has won the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary in Oyo State.
Alli received 578,143 votes, surpassing former Minister of Power Adebayo Adelabu, who secured 19,193 votes, and a third candidate.
Adelabu resigned from his ministerial post to run for the governorship.
According to DAILY POST, Adelabu claimed that the primary was rigged.
He made the allegation on Thursday while speaking with journalists after voting at his ward.
Speaking to reporters, the ex‑minister warned, “I must sound this note of warning that it is not this way in a lot of other wards.”
“Reports reaching me state that there are a lot of gross misconducts in the other wards, ranging from various forms of infractions,” he added.
“In some wards, they conducted the election hours before the appointed time and wrote the figures they liked.”
