Evra: Why Guardiola Resigned as Manchester City Manager

Former Manchester United defender Patrice Evra has revealed that Pep Guardiola resigned as Manchester City manager because of the impending 115 Financial Fair Play (FFP) charges.

The 115 charges involve alleged financial rule breaches by City between 2009 and 2018. A ruling has yet to be issued, leaving fans anxious about the potential punishment if the club is found guilty.

In a conversation with Stake, Evra suggested that the looming cloud over the club may have prompted Guardiola’s departure.

“Erling Haaland, Rayan Cherki and the players are faithful to the club. I don’t see them leaving, to be honest. I feel like they know Enzo Maresca.”

“The structure of the club is stronger than the manager. This is the case for City. But why is Guardiola leaving?”

“The penalty (financial charges) is coming, all of that. Let’s see. Let’s see what’s going to happen. But if nothing happens, I don’t see the fall of City.”
