Everton, nine‑time English Premier League champions, have renewed their interest in Super Eagles and Blackburn Rovers right‑back Ryan Alebiosu, Afrik Foot reports.

Sources from The72 UK and Read Everton say Alebiosu is likely to be “in demand” this summer following an impressive season with the Rovers in the EFL Championship.

The 24‑year‑old defender recorded 40 appearances across all competitions, 39 of them in the league, and added one goal and five assists.

Why Everton are interested in Alebiosu

In the past two seasons the Toffees’ highest Premier League finish was 13th. Under David Moyes this campaign they sit 10th, with a modest chance of reaching the Conference League.

Nevertheless, their first season at the newly named Hill Davinson Stadium has presented challenges, one of which is the shortage of a specialist right‑back.

Club captain Seamus Coleman, 37, is approaching the end of his career and may depart when his contract expires this summer. Nathan Patterson, meanwhile, has struggled with fitness and consistency.

Irish centre‑back Jake O’Brien has been deployed on the right flank by Moyes, and former Manchester United midfielder James Garner has also filled the role, but neither provides the attacking contribution Alebiosu delivered for Blackburn this season.

At Blackburn, the one‑cap Super Eagles defender operates as a wing‑back, positioned slightly higher up the pitch, where his overlapping runs and early deliveries into the box suit Moyes’ preference for full‑backs, reminiscent of Ashley Young’s style.

The Merseysiders are not the only club interested. Italian side Genoa reportedly rejected a £4.3 million bid in January, while Scottish giants Rangers and Bundesliga club VfL Wolfsburg are also said to be monitoring the situation.
