Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has urged the Red Devils to sign Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest when the summer transfer window opens.
Scholes said he would be very pleased if Anderson were paired with Kobbie Mainoo in United’s midfield next season.
Speaking as a guest on TalkSPORT’s morning sports programme, the former England midfielder said, “I admired him [Elliot Anderson] when he was still playing for Newcastle.
“But my view is that Man United needs to strengthen one or two midfielders this summer, and cannot just bring in Anderson alone.
“I would be very satisfied if the midfield next season could be Anderson paired with Mainoo.”
Manchester United will need to recruit a new midfielder this summer because Casemiro will leave the club at the end of the season.
