Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has announced that it is the appropriate time for him to depart the Premier League club.
He oversaw his final match on Sunday, a 2‑1 home loss to Aston Villa in the Premier League.
The 55‑year‑old said he will now take a break to rest and concentrate on his family.
Guardiola also expressed gratitude to the club’s leadership for supporting his decision to leave after a decade.
“It is the right time. I will not miss it for a while, that’s for sure,” he said. “I feel deeply that the decision is the right decision for this club and the players. I thank the club for respecting it, they understood.”
During his tenure at the Etihad, Guardiola secured six Premier League titles, one Champions League, three FA Cups, and five League Cups.
