Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has said he regrets not giving Joe Hart a chance after the goalkeeper joined the club in 2016.
Hart never appeared in a City match, spent two seasons on loan at Torino, and later signed for Burnley.
At the time, Hart was England’s first‑choice keeper and a two‑time Premier League champion.
Guardiola felt Hart’s footwork did not fit his tactical approach and opted for Claudio Bravo instead.
“I want to confess something, I have just one regret – I didn’t give Joe Hart a chance with me, to prove how good a keeper he was,” Guardiola told Sky Sports.
“When you take a lot of decisions, you will make mistakes.”
