Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola, has revealed that legendary Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson sent him a message as he prepares to leave the Cityzens in the coming days.
Guardiola disclosed this during his pre-match press conference ahead of Man City’s final Premier League clash with Aston Villa on Sunday.
The Spaniard will leave Man City at the end of the season after a 10-year stay at the Premier League giants.
However, Guardiola has now revealed that Ferguson had been in touch to congratulate him on his time at City.
“One of the biggest compliments I had: I got a message from Sir Alex Ferguson yesterday. That made me so happy,” Guardiola said.
“A Scottish accent, I didn’t understand it! I will call him back. Congratulations on the trajectory and for what we achieved. It means a lot to me.”
