On Saturday, a large number of voters gathered at Iheaka Central School in Igboeze South Local Government Area of Enugu State to cast ballots in the Enugu North Senatorial District by‑election.
The polling unit, which belongs to the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial candidate Mr. Ikeje Asogwa, saw a steady flow of voters exercising their franchise.
During the exercise, a technical issue arose when the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) failed to capture Mr. Asogwa’s details after several attempts by election officials.
Despite the interruption, voting proceeded at the polling unit as officials continued to accredit voters and conduct the voting process.
Mr. Asogwa expressed his dissatisfaction with the BVAS malfunction, describing the incident as unacceptable.
Election officials worked to resolve the problem while voters continued to cast their ballots in a peaceful environment.
