Enekwechi makes history with Nigeria’s first-ever Commonwealth Games shot put gold

Nigerian athlete Chukwuebuka Enekwechi has etched his name into the history books after becoming the country’s first-ever Commonwealth Games men’s shot put champion.
The African record holder secured the gold medal with a winning throw of 21.07 metres, marking a landmark achievement for Nigerian athletics at the Games.
Enekwechi’s triumph also represents a significant improvement on his previous Commonwealth Games outing, having claimed the silver medal at the 2018 edition.
This time, the Nigerian thrower went one step further to stand atop the podium and deliver a historic first for the country in the event.
The victory adds another milestone to Enekwechi’s illustrious career and further cements his status as one of Africa’s leading field athletes.
