A mild protest unfolded at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office in Abuja on Monday when Nollywood actor and House of Representatives hopeful Emeka Ike voiced his dissatisfaction with the outcome of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) primary election for the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) seat.
Ike, who has recently announced his intention to run for a seat in the House of Representatives, stormed the INEC office and alleged irregularities in the conduct of the primary election.
According to DAILY POST, the actor lost the party’s primaries.
During the protest, Ike addressed INEC officials, expressing anger over the electoral process and insisting that he would not remain silent.
“We don’t have an address when the election is going on. I am an aspirant, I’m a Nigerian,” he said. “You won’t go away with this. I don’t do social media activism. INEC will not escape this,” he added.
