Hon. Mohammed Bello Elrufai, son of former Kaduna State Governor Mallam Nasir Elrufai, has called for the full protection of his father's constitutional rights.

Representing Kaduna North Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, El‑Rufai posted a statement on his verified Facebook page describing two separate incidents that he says infringed his father's fundamental rights.

He said his father’s personal physician arrived at the ICPC around 3 p.m. to review recent medical test results, but agency staff denied the doctor access, insisting that written permission from the ICPC chairman was necessary.

El‑Rufai contends that the denial violated a court order that had granted his father unrestricted access to his medical practitioners.

“Second, his wife, Aunty Aichatou, brought his evening meal at around 7 p.m. as she normally does. ICPC personnel turned her away, saying they had orders not to permit food deliveries after 6:30 p.m.,” he wrote.

He argues that such arbitrary rules amount to assaults on the rule of law and a clear breach of his father's constitutional and human rights.

The statement further asserts that no lawful detention can justify denying medical care or basic family support when an arbitrary curfew imposed by the ICPC is invoked.

“We demand that all his constitutional rights be fully respected. We will no longer accept this pattern of intimidation dressed up as protocol,” he said.

El‑Rufai added that the ICPC must adhere to the laws it purports to enforce.
