Former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose said on Saturday that he was confident Governor Biodun Oyebanji would win the current governorship election in the state.
Fayose made the statement after he cast his ballot at Polling Unit 1, St. David Primary School, Afao‑Ekiti, in Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government Area.
“Oyebanji has already won the election,” Fayose told reporters after voting.
He added that the body language of voters and the overall developments in the state pointed to a decisive victory for the incumbent.
“If you look at the state of things in the state and the body language of the people, I am predicting an overwhelming victory for him,” he said.
Fayose also praised residents for taking part in the democratic process as voting continued at other polling units across the state.
