Former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose cast his ballot at Polling Unit 1, St. David Primary School in Afao‑Ekiti, Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government Area, during the state’s ongoing governorship election.

Shortly after voting, Fayose told reporters that he was confident in Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s prospects, saying the incumbent was on track to win.

Fayose said that recent political developments and the mood of residents across the state pointed to strong support for Oyebanji.

“Oyebanji has already won the election,” he said.

“If you look at the state of things in the state and the body language of the people, I am predicting an overwhelming victory for him,” he added.

Voting began at multiple polling units throughout the state, with security personnel and election officials overseeing the process.
