The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has started uploading polling unit results from the Ekiti governorship election to its Result Viewing Portal (IReV).
The first results appeared on the portal around 4:10 p.m. on Saturday, after stakeholders expressed concerns about the delay in posting polling unit outcomes online.
An early confirmed result showed APC governor candidate Biodun Oyebanji defeating ADC candidate Ambassador Dare Bejide at Polling Unit 4, Ward 2, in Ekiti South West Local Government Area, with 140 votes to Bejide’s 37; the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) received two votes.
At the time of reporting, roughly 20 % of polling unit results had been uploaded to the IReV portal.
