Ekiti State Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship candidate, Oluwole Oluyede, claims that the All Progressives Congress, APC, has held the worst primary election in the history of democracy.
Oluyede made the statement on Saturday during an interview on Arise Television, which was monitored by DAILY POST.
He said the state APC is fractured and has left the state in disarray.
“The APC conducted bad primaries and the party is torn apart. They thought PDP was dead in the state and we have shown that we are existing and a cohesive force,” he said.
“And keeping in mind that the only government that has been able to perform in any shape or form in Ekiti historically has been the PDP, and if we look at the performances of previous governments, this current one is definitely the worst performing government,” he added.
“People are tired of an inept and inactive government that hasn’t really done anything for its people, and I’m sure that even if there is no alternative, Governor Oyebanji will still have lost the election to himself,” he said.
