The Katsina State Police Command has announced that it will deploy personnel and operational assets throughout the state for the 2026 Eid‑el‑Kabir celebrations to ensure a peaceful and incident‑free Sallah period.
In a statement released by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, the deployment is intended to strengthen security before, during, and after the festivities. The arrangement covers Eid prayer grounds, recreational centres, motor parks, major roads, and other public spaces across the state.
The deployment will include conventional police officers, tactical units, traffic personnel, and undercover operatives working in partnership with sister security agencies to maintain law and order. The operation will focus on crowd control at prayer grounds, traffic management to prevent congestion, intelligence gathering, surveillance, and enforcement of laws against illegal fireworks, reckless driving, and other public disturbances.
Residents are urged to cooperate with security personnel, obey lawful instructions, and promptly report suspicious persons or activities through designated emergency lines. The Command also advised worshippers and residents to avoid carrying weapons or objects that could cause panic in public spaces and to celebrate responsibly in line with the spirit of the season.
Commissioner of Police Ali Umar Fage congratulated the Muslim faithful and assured residents that adequate security would be maintained throughout the celebration and beyond.
