The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has published photographs of former Minister of Power Saleh Mamman, who was taken into custody this morning in Kaduna State.
Daily Post had reported that Mamman, who had been evading arrest, was recently found guilty and sentenced to 75 years in prison for diverting ₦33.8 billion that was earmarked for the Zungeru and Mambilla hydroelectric power projects.
EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede confirmed that Mamman was seized at approximately 3:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
He was reportedly apprehended in Kaduna together with two people who allegedly were shielding him from law‑enforcement officials.
The house where the arrest occurred is also under investigation by the anti‑corruption agency.
