An aspirant for the House of Representatives seat in Somolu Federal Constituency, representing the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdul Hamed Salawu—known as Dullar—has announced that he is withdrawing from the election.

Salawu, who previously served as Chairman of Somolu Local Government, made the announcement on Saturday. He said his decision was made to preserve party unity, uphold democratic stability, and serve the broader interests of the APC in the constituency.

He praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he called disciplined and progressive leadership, adding that the national interest should always take precedence over personal ambition and political calculations.

Salawu pledged to accept the party’s outcome “peacefully and in good faith without protest,” and urged supporters throughout Lagos State to stay calm, united, and fully loyal to the APC.

He also expressed hope that other political actors will show similar understanding and loyalty whenever party decisions do not favor them.
