Chaos erupted at the Abuja Federal High Court on Monday when a squad of heavily armed Department of State Services (DSS) operatives seized the African Action Congress (AAC) presidential hopeful, Omoyele Sowore, and took him into custody after a court order for remand.

The move followed Justice Mohammed Umar’s directive that Sowore be held at the Kuje Correctional Centre until Wednesday.

Video footage obtained by DAILY POST shows the fully equipped DSS officers gaining control of the activist inside the courtroom.

The arrest came after the judge revoked Sowore’s bail, a decision linked to DSS allegations that the candidate had publicly called President Bola Tinubu a criminal.

According to DAILY POST, Justice Umar had earlier rejected an application in which Sowore requested the judge to withdraw from the case.

The defense argued that the single court appearance used to justify the bail revocation was actually a meeting between Sowore and his newly appointed lead counsel, Olumide‑Fusika, SAN, who had formally briefed the court on the matter.
