Dollar to Naira exchange rate today, June 9, 2026: Nigerian currency extends appreciation

The naira continued to strengthen against the dollar on Tuesday in the official foreign exchange market.

According to the Central Bank of Nigeria, the rate moved to N1,360.55 per dollar, up from N1,362.84 on Monday.

That represents a daily gain of N2.29 for the naira versus the dollar.

In contrast, the black‑market rate remained unchanged at N1,395 per dollar, the same as Monday.

The strengthening comes as the country’s foreign reserves climbed to $50.27 billion as of Monday, June 8, 2026, per the apex bank’s figures.

Earlier in the week, the naira had already appreciated against the dollar at the official market, giving the week a strong start.
