Disgruntled members drive aspirants and executives out of the Oyo APC secretariat.

Chaos erupted in Ibadan on Thursday when dissatisfied members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) drove several aspirants and party officials out of the state secretariat.

The disturbance took place at the Oyo State APC Secretariat in the Oke Ado area of Ibadan.

According to DAILY POST, a group of APC members unhappy with recent party developments had gathered at the secretariat to voice their grievances.

Security forces were required to intervene and restore order within the premises.

Olawale Sadare, the party’s Publicity Secretary, issued a statement to DAILY POST on Thursday condemning the incident.

Sadare said that the attackers were armed with dangerous weapons.

“The hoodlums who reportedly unleashed terror on members of the state executive committee, staff and others who were present at the secretariat, were armed with dangerous weapons and charms as they came in high numbers to carry out their nefarious acts. The attacks, which lasted for about two hours, left in its wake damage to private cars and the secretariat building as windshields, tyres, office windows, doors among other things were shattered,” he said.
