The Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC) Indigenous Contractors Forum has congratulated Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on his selection as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the 2027 gubernatorial election. The announcement followed the governor’s decisive victory in the party’s primary held on Thursday.
Engr. Victor Abba, Chairman of the APC Governorship Primary Election Committee, announced the result at the party secretariat in Asaba, the collation centre for the primary. He praised the peaceful conduct of the exercise and commended party members for their unity and maturity throughout the process.
In a statement issued yesterday, the DESOPADEC Indigenous Contractors Forum described the governor’s emergence as a clear reflection of the confidence, trust, and overwhelming support he enjoys within the APC and among the people of Delta State.
The statement, signed by the forum’s Chairman, Engr. Ogie Samson, and Secretary, Prince Charles Ebigbagha, noted that Oborevwori’s leadership style, developmental strides, and commitment to good governance continue to inspire confidence across the state. It also highlighted that his unopposed emergence demonstrates the unity and stability currently existing within the party.
The forum praised party leaders, stakeholders, and members for their implicit faith in Oborevwori’s leadership, assuring that the governor will never disappoint. It pledged continued support and vowed to mobilise voters en masse for his re‑election and for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the forthcoming general elections.
“Your Excellency, on behalf of members of the DESOPADEC Indigenous Contractors Forum, I assure you of our continuous support for the renewal of your mandate and that of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027,” Ogie added in the statement.
The forum expressed confidence that the governor will maintain the relationship with Indigenous Contractors as it stands, both during and after the renewal of his mandate in the 2027 elections.
