Daddy Freeze, a veteran Nigerian On Air Personality, has explained why he left the service of songs for the late actor Alex Ekubo.

He made the statement during an Instagram Live session over the weekend.

According to DAILY POST, the service of songs for Alex Ekubo was held last Wednesday in Lagos State, with many prominent figures in attendance, including gospel singers, pastors, Nollywood stars, Daddy Freeze and other personalities.

While the ceremony was still underway, Daddy Freeze posted an Instagram video in which he said the singer turned the funeral into a concert.

He questioned Mercy’s choice of music, asking, “Does Mercy Chinwo not have soft music?”

“Mercy Chinwo climbed the pulpit and turned the place into a concert. At that point I got up and left. Does Mercy Chinwo not have soft music? Do you understand what a funeral is? The kind of music that should be played at a funeral is soft music. They should have just played hymns for like two hours, then I would have sat down there and enjoyed it. So at the time she was performing, I just got up and left.”

DAILY POST reports that gospel musicians who performed at the ceremony included Mercy Chinwo, Peterson Okopi, Moses Bliss, Ebuka Songs, the Laud Urban Choir, among others.
