Real Madrid star Marc Cucurella has urged old Chelsea team-mate Enzo Fernandez to join him at the Bernabeu.
Cucurella, 27, has signed a six-year deal with Jose Mourinho‘s men after Madrid agreed a £51.8million deal for his signature.
And the ex-Brighton man now hopes wantaway star Fernandez to follow in his footsteps and said he would be “very happy” if the Argentine signed alongside him.
He told Spanish newspaper Marca (via The Sun): “He’s a great player and a friend of mine. He congratulated me on the signing. I hope it happens. I would be very happy.
“We were very happy at Chelsea, and to have the opportunity to both sign for Real Madrid in the same summer… I hope he’s lucky and becomes a Real Madrid player.”
Fernandez’s future at Chelsea looks uncertain after he was dropped last season for talking up links to the Spanish giants.
The 25-year-old was dropped by former boss Liam Rosenior for two games after comments to the media, saying: “I really like Madrid – it’s similar to Buenos Aires”.
When asked if he would consider living in Madrid, he replied: “Yes, of course.”

Rosenior later said “a line was crossed” and Fernandez was axed for their FA Cup clash with Port Vale and their Prem clash against Man City.

But his agent Javier Pastore – formerly of PSG – blasted the situation and said his client never specifically said he wanted to join another club.
He said: “Enzo didn’t understand the situation. When the coach told him, he accepted it because he’s a highly professional guy who’s always fully committed wherever he is and respects decisions.
“But we don’t understand the punishment because he doesn’t mention any club or say he wants to leave Chelsea, far from it.
“He only mentions Madrid, the city, because he was asked which European city he’d like to live in one day.”
