Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr contact Pep Guardiola to become next manager

Al‑Nassr, a club in the Saudi Professional League, has reportedly approached Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola about the possibility of taking over as their next head coach.

Guardiola’s agent confirmed that the Saudi club had reached out to the former Barcelona coach about leading Cristiano Ronaldo and his teammates in Saudi Arabia.

Guardiola has said he intends to leave Manchester City at the end of the current season.

Josep Maria Orobitg, who has long represented the Spaniard, explained that Al‑Nassr’s approach came before Guardiola decided to depart City.

Some reports claimed that Al‑Nassr offered nearly €130 million per season for the role, but Orobitg disputed the figure, saying it was not as large as reported.

He told Okaz, “There was contact a month and a half ago, merely contact, without any commitment or formal offer. It is not that much money.”

Guardiola’s agent also stated that the interaction was limited to initial contact and that nothing further had been agreed. He added that Al‑Nassr currently has no realistic chance of securing Guardiola’s services.

“There was also contact with the Saudi Arabian Federation about 15 days ago, but there will be no further discussions for the time being. At present, neither party has a significant opportunity to sign Guardiola,” he said.

Guardiola leaves Manchester City as their most successful manager, having won 20 trophies during his decade in England. He will continue to serve as a global ambassador for the City Football Group (CFG).
