After securing promotion to the Premier League, Coventry City confirmed the permanent signing of Frank Onyeka.

The Nigerian midfielder had joined the Sky Blues on loan from Brentford in January, and the club activated the purchase option once they achieved top‑flight promotion.

The club is expected to pay €8 million to complete the transfer.

“Coventry City also have the opportunity to acquire Frank Onyeka’s registration on a permanent basis upon the expiry of the Loan Agreement which will be with effect from July 1st 2026,” reads a statement on the club’s official website.

The former FC Midtjylland star played an influential role in Coventry’s successful promotion campaign, registering one goal and one assist in 14 Championship appearances.

The 28‑year‑old has also been nominated for the Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month award for April.
