The Federal High Court in Abuja sentenced former Minister of Power Saleh Mamman to a term of 75 years in prison for the misappropriation of approximately N33.8 billion in public funds.
The case was brought before the court by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Mamman faced charges of money laundering and conspiracy relating to funds earmarked for the Zungeru and Mambilla hydroelectric power projects.
The judgment represents a significant escalation from earlier proceedings, during which the court dismissed his no‑case submission and directed him to present a defence.
