The Federal High Court, Abuja Division, led by Hon. Justice M. G. Umar, dismissed on 16 June 2026 an application filed by Ihuoma Julia Nneji that sought to set aside the warrant of arrest issued against her.
The Nigeria Police Force declared Ms. Nneji wanted on 16 April 2025 for alleged offences of criminal defamation, injurious falsehood, and cyberstalking of Abuja‑based lawyer Barr. Henry Uzochukwu.
Ms. Nneji, daughter of Chief Frank Nneji, founder of ABC Transport, petitioned the court to vacate the warrant issued in favor of the Inspector General of Police in suit number FHC/ABJ/CR/627/25. The court found no merit in her application, noting it could not prevent the police from performing its statutory duties, and dismissed the application in its entirety.
The decision confirms that the warrant of arrest issued and published on 16 April 2025 remains valid, and the court has authorized the police to carry out its duties.
The court ordered Ms. Nneji to submit herself to the police to continue the investigation.
Whether Ms. Nneji will voluntarily surrender to the authorities under the existing court order remains to be seen.
